Today we’d like to introduce you to Nisi Berryman.

Nisi, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Having enjoyed many years in the interior design community, I knew the need for home accessories to complete projects. Many designers were scrambling at the end of an amazing project without a great one-stop resource to help them accessorize with pieces that you don’t see everywhere.

Twelve years later, our 500 square foot starter space grew to 3500 square feet and now includes furniture, lighting and art primarily from small, hands-on US companies and studios that create amazing work.

We are known for introducing very talented artists and artisans to the Florida market, which is a continued source of pride and fun for us.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course not! Like most small businesses, cash flow is a challenge. The financial crisis in much of Latin America has also affected our clientele.

Even after surviving the recession, the massive construction and changing the identity of Design District (from home furnishings to fashion) has been difficult to navigate, but we are looking forward to the completion!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Nisi B – what should we know?
We try to maintain an expressive point of view in selecting our merchandise, with an eye toward sculptural forms, impeccable craftsmanship and unexpected pieces both new and vintage.

Our “look” is modern but fiercely eclectic, following our opening mission: To create a “one-stop-shopping” experience for our clients that look anything but. Special finds include vintage and new Murano glass, outstanding bronze and other metalwork, jewel-like hardware and lighting, Lucite and other custom furniture.

The companies we represent are some of the best in the world, and we are very proud to offer them in this exciting market.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
So many! Top kudos go to my ace team, Lynn Larrieu and Fariba Shahegh, who were here a combined 16 years! Also, my late mother-in-law who was my biggest cheerleader. Holly Hunt and Ralph Pucci have been huge inspirations.

The biggest shout-out goes to our loyal customers – wouldn’t be here if not for them!
